Tokyo – Day 4, Gyeon Park, TeamLabs, Senso-ji Shrine

So many incredible highlights packed in a single day.

First a tip: do not get hot souffle pancakes from Tokyo. The restaurant said they take 55 minutes to make fresh.

We got on electric scooters to Gyeon Park. Dodging pedestrians and cars, we zoomed through the streets of Tokyo. So nice to feel the wind when it’s hot out. We stopped at Gyeon Park which was beautiful and had Japanese gardens, beautiful hydrangeas, and a tea house.

Then we went to TeamLabs, an immersive experience museum. It’s an incredible museum with immersive exhibits that engage all senses. Observers walk through the exhibits barefoot, and like a funhouse with dark corridors, each exhibit takes the observer through a different visual experience. Gracious, I will never forget the orchid garden room. The pictures we took were incredible. Let them explain.

Next stop was Asakusa, which contains the Senso-ji Shrine. This contained a Shinto temple and a park filled with food stalls. What a great way to end the day; it juxtaposed very modern, futuristic sights (TeamLabs) with Edo-style temples, shrines, religious iconagraphy (Asakusa).
