Tokyo – Day 3 Guchokuni

Guchokuni is a Michelin star restaurant down this very unassuming corridor in Shinjuku, up an elevator on the second floor. They served a 2 hour course that was likely the best meal I’ve ever had.

The menu:

Boiled pike with sea cucumber innards
Deep fried ayu
Steamed abalone
Seabream uni and sea cucumber with ponzu and soysauce
Fish roe and corn fritter
Grilled swordfish with edamame and pepper hash
Wagyu rice with summer mushroom, pickles with young eggplant, miso soup
Mango ice cream with fresh mangos and yogurt

So delicious! Tradition and simplicity that’s to die for!
